We expect all children to be ready to start the school day at 8:40am.
- Morning Tea: 10:45 – 11:05am
- Lunchtime: 12:45 – 1:30pm
- Finishing Time:
- Primary: 3:00pm
- Secondary: 3:10pm
Term Dates 2026
As a composite school, our term dates for 2026 are:
- Term 1: 29 Jan – 2 April
- Term 2: 20 April – 3 July
- Term 3: 20 July – 25 Sept
- Term 4: 12 Oct – 9 Dec Approx

Mihi Whakatau
ViewPlease join us for our Mihi Whakatau to welcome new staff, students and families to HCS. This will be held in the Gym at 8:45am
Farmyard Zoo/Cornwall Park Trip A2/A3
ViewTuesday, 10 March, Farmyard Zoo and Cornwall Park. We aim to leave HCS at 9.25am and will arrive back at HCS at 2.45pm.
A reminder that car/booster seats must be left at school on Tuesday morning.
Parent helpers please congregate outside A3/B1 at 9.20am. Please ensure that you have a fully charged cell phone in case of an emergency.
For a number of reasons, we have decided not to go ahead with the horse rides. Those who have already paid the money for this will be refunded.
Students are to wear full school uniform and hats on the trip. However they may choose to wear more suitable footwear.
Students will need plenty of food (no foods with nuts please, as we have an A2 student with significant allergies coming with us) and a good size water bottle.
